SIXTH CHORDS
(sym.-A6,D6,etc...)
l-3-5+6th tone

Building the "sixth" chord is kind of like the maj. 7th, but instead of the 7th tone, the 6th tone is "added".

Using the B maj. root let's build a B 6th. The root for a B 6th, according to the 1-3-5 structure found on the numbers chart, are the note's B-D#-F#.

If the 6th tone is added, a B6 has the note's B-D#-F#-G#, G# being the 6th tone. An A6th chord would have the root notes A-C#-E-F#, F# being the 6th tone.

AUGMENTED CHORDS
(sym.-B+,D+,etc...)
1-3-5/ #5th tone

Augmented chords are fairly simple to do, because all you need are the root note's,1-3-5.

The numbers chart reads to "sharp the 5th tone", or raise it a half-step.

For a C maj. to become a C augmented, using the note's C-E-G, the G has to be raised a half-step to G#.

A C aug. has the note's C-E-G#. An F aug. would be F-A-C#, after the "5th" is raised a half-step or sharped.
